Is it worth getting a guided tour of gibraltar?

I am heading to Mijas in May, I have rented a car and was wondering if anyone has been to Gibraltar, is it worth the trip I have been hearing mixed reports about it.
Would also like to hear of what people would recommend as not to be missed in Malaga, Mijas area.
